Cannabis Career Exploration program enrolling now for Feb. 6!

The Capital District Educational Opportunity Center (CDEOC), located at 431 River St. in Troy, is excited to partner with the Cannabis Workforce Initiative to offer a new career exploration program focused on New York State’s emerging and expansive legal cannabis industry. This program is free for individuals who qualify!

The Cannabis Career Exploration program begins on Tuesday, Feb. 6 (5:30-8:30 p.m.), and will cover the following topics over five weeks:

  • Week 1 – Feb. 6: History of Cannabis Laws/What the Legalization of Cannabis Means for You/Industry Overview/The Cannabis Plant
  • Week 2 – Feb. 13: Jobs in Extraction & Manufacturing/Working in a Dispensary
  • Week 3 – Feb. 27: Health & Safety in the Cannabis Industry/Seed-to-sale Compliance
  • Week 4 – Mar. 5: Your Rights at Work/Protections from Discrimination & Harassment
  • Week 5 – Mar. 12: Packaging, Branding & Marketing in Cannabis/Additional Opportunities in the Cannabis Industry
